Our Culture

A church's culture is determined by the people that attend through shared values and common practices and interests. From sports to supper, culture flows from the way we think and act and speak.

West Milford's Culture

Some of life's sweetest memories are made in the simple interactions of everyday life, like sharing a meal, enjoying happy conversation, or discovering a new truth. This is culture at its best.

This is how Jesus changed lives, and this is how we do it.

West Milford Church thrives on the deep connections and Christ-centered faith that span the  generations and fill the future with hope. You can read about some of the activities of previous West Milford generations in A History of West Milford Church of Christ.

What sets West Milford Church of Christ's culture apart?

The following four concepts are at the heart of West Milford's ministry:

Rich heritage.

We worship Jesus in much the same way disciples have been worshiping Him for millennia. Through preaching, teaching, singing, praying, celebrating communion and baptism, we connect with the rich heritage of faith that has come before us.

Deep faith.

We follow Jesus "by faith, not by sight." The culture of West Milford is built on a steadfast trust in God and in His goodness.

Close connections.

We follow Jesus when we love God and love others. Our faith is lived out in the context of relationships. Our community creates an environment for discipleship to take place.

Bright future.

We follow Jesus by making Him known locally and globally. We are on mission for Christ whether we are with our family, talking to our neighbor, or even when we go to another country. The by-product of discipleship is always a multiplication of others following after Christ.
